Making copper sulfate crystals
Apparatus needed:
Steps:
-
CuSO4
-
distilled water
-
beaker
-
heating device
-
a stick
-
woolen yarn
-
filter paper
-
put 150 ml of distilled water in a beaker
-
put 90 g of CuSO4 to the beaker
-
heat the solution using a heating device up to 80 degrees Celsius and melt CuSO4
-
place a wooden stick tied with yarn over the beaker
-
cover the beaker with a filter paper
-
leave it for a week
Conclusion: Pure solids can be precipitated using solubility differences depending on temperature.
